Description

Multiply reusable by unitCost, count rejected units, and subtract handling cost for netCredit.

Pharmacy credit arithmetic applies a supplied price to a chosen returned or accepted quantity. Financial eligibility and a product's suitability for reuse are separate determinations.

Multiply reusable by unitCost, count rejected units, and subtract handling cost for netCredit.

When to use this tool

Use Ward Returned Unused Unit Credit when you need one documented pharmacy-return cost component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter returned, reusable, unitCost, handlingCost. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read credit, rejected, netCredit. Use the output convention below.

Require reusable between zero and returned, with nonnegative unitCost and handlingCost. Multiply reusable by unitCost, count rejected units, and subtract handling cost for netCredit.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Net credit may be negative; reusable is a supplied count and does not establish sterility, legal return eligibility, or clinical suitability for reuse.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods
