Description

Select accepted units only when creditOnlyAccepted, otherwise all returns, and multiply for credit.

Pharmacy credit arithmetic applies a supplied price to a chosen returned or accepted quantity. Financial eligibility and a product's suitability for reuse are separate determinations.

Select accepted units only when creditOnlyAccepted, otherwise all returns, and multiply for credit.

When to use this tool

Use Hospital Return Credit Base Flag when you need one documented pharmacy-return cost component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter returnedUnits, creditableUnits, suppliedUnitCredit, creditOnlyAccepted. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read creditedUnits, credit. Use the output convention below.

Require creditableUnits within nonnegative returnedUnits and nonnegative suppliedUnitCredit. Select accepted units only when creditOnlyAccepted, otherwise all returns, and multiply for credit.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The flag changes the credit base; no return eligibility, product quality, enforceable reimbursement right, or monetary rounding is determined.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Verify return policy, product condition, authorized handling, and accounting treatment with the responsible pharmacy team.
