Stock Solution Nitrogen PPM Target
Invert exact final-flow stock replacement and source-water nitrogen to fertilizer stock mass, assuming stock is made in nitrogen-free water; not DAP nitrogen contribution, solubility validation or a crop dosing recommendation.
Description
Injected stock replaces a fraction of the final water flow.
Injected stock replaces a fraction of the final water flow. Source-water nitrogen remaining in the other fraction must be included in the final concentration balance.1
Invert exact final-flow stock replacement and source-water nitrogen to fertilizer stock mass, assuming stock is made in nitrogen-free water; not DAP nitrogen contribution, solubility validation or a crop dosing recommendation.
When to use Stock Solution Nitrogen PPM Target
Use this tool to invert exact final-flow stock replacement and source-water nitrogen to fertilizer stock mass, assuming stock is made in nitrogen-free water; not DAP nitrogen contribution, solubility validation or a crop dosing recommendation.
Prepare the plant, nutrient, light or scheduling measurements for the intended crop and period. Keep paired records aligned and confirm units and supplied target values.
How to use Stock Solution Nitrogen PPM Target and understand its results
- Prepare the plant, nutrient, light or scheduling measurements for the intended crop and period. Keep paired records aligned and confirm units and supplied target values.
- Enter targetFinalNitrogenMgPerLiter, sourceWaterNitrogenMgPerLiter, stockVolumeLiters, stockFractionOfFinalFlow, fertilizerNitrogenMassFraction, fertilizerAssayPurityFraction using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
- Read requiredStockNitrogenMgPerLiter, requiredFertilizerGrams. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
- If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type; see rules below | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| targetFinalNitrogenMgPerLiter | Target final nitrogen mg per liter | number | Required |
| sourceWaterNitrogenMgPerLiter | Source water nitrogen mg per liter | number | Required |
| stockVolumeLiters | Stock volume liters | number | Required |
| stockFractionOfFinalFlow | Stock fraction of final flow | number | Required |
| fertilizerNitrogenMassFraction | Fertilizer nitrogen mass fraction | number | Required |
| fertilizerAssayPurityFraction | Fertilizer assay purity fraction | number | Required |
Enter positive stock volume and stock, nitrogen and purity fractions in (0,1]. Use nonnegative mg/L concentrations and target at least source concentration. Calculate required stock nitrogen and fertilizer mass, assuming stock water has no nitrogen.
stock N=source N+(target N−source N)/stock fraction; fertilizer g=stock N × stock liters/(1000 × N fraction × purity) Units, indexing, boundary conditions and exceptional cases are defined in the calculation rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| requiredStockNitrogenMgPerLiter | Required stock nitrogen mg per liter | number |
| requiredFertilizerGrams | Required fertilizer grams | number |

Targets below source are rejected even if dilution might otherwise be possible. Solubility, chemical compatibility and crop suitability are not checked.
Numeric inputs and returned numeric values must be finite; an unrepresentable returned value produces an error. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use EC MS CM Correction Factor: Normalize uncompensated solution EC to supplied reference temperature using sample-specific linear coefficients; an already compensated instrument bypass avoids double correction. For a complementary task, use Peat Perlite Bark Blend Ratio Mixer: Scale caller peat/perlite/bark loose-volume ratios to a calibrated settled blend volume and balance dry/water masses; no additive pore-volume, pH or fertility guarantee.
