Analyzer Channel Reference Gap Tool

Compare supplied nonclinical analyzer/reference pairs for an explicit channel; no diagnostic ranges.

Description

For selectedChannel, return record count, mean reading-minus-reference, and largest absolute gap; return zeros with defined false when none match.

Analyzer signals and research counts can require background correction and reference comparisons. A signed residual can describe the data without identifying its cause or establishing a valid clinical measurement.

For selectedChannel, return record count, mean reading-minus-reference, and largest absolute gap; return zeros with defined false when none match.

When to use this tool

Use Analyzer Channel Reference Gap when you need one explicit analyzer signal or reference component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter channelIds, readings, suppliedReferences, selectedChannel. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read pairs, meanGap, largestAbsoluteGap, defined. Inspect defined before interpreting the associated values.

Require aligned channelIds, readings, and suppliedReferences. For selectedChannel, return record count, mean reading-minus-reference, and largest absolute gap; return zeros with defined false when none match.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Duplicate channel records contribute separately; signals share a scale and no calibration tolerance, analyzer validity, or clinical assessment is selected.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review calibration, controls, exposure basis, uncertainty, and the complete laboratory interpretation.
