GMP Component Potency Supplied Adjustment Tool

Explicit potency/moisture mass bookkeeping without selecting a formulation.

Description

Divide target by potency for dryEquivalent and by potency times one minus moisture for asReceivedMass.

Manufacturing balances compare recorded quantities on a common material basis. Yield, potency, moisture, and disposition counts answer different questions; a consistent calculation does not by itself authorize a product or establish manufacturing compliance.

Divide target by potency for dryEquivalent and by potency times one minus moisture for asReceivedMass.

When to use this tool

Use GMP Component Potency Supplied Adjustment when you need an explicit manufacturing quantity reconciliation or supplied-factor adjustment.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter targetActiveMass, suppliedPotency, moistureFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read dryEquivalent, asReceivedMass. Use the output convention below.

Require nonnegative targetActiveMass, suppliedPotency in (0, 1], and moistureFraction in [0, 1). Divide target by potency for dryEquivalent and by potency times one minus moisture for asReceivedMass.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Potency is on the dry-material basis assumed by the formula and both values are fractions rather than percentages; the result is a supplied material component, not a validated formulation, medicine dose, or batch-release decision.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Reconcile authenticated batch records and approved methods before interpreting the arithmetic. Product release, potency interpretation, and process suitability require the applicable quality procedures and responsible review.
