Description

Scale the reference component by target/reference batch and add fixedLoss for totalRequired.

Manufacturing balances compare recorded quantities on a common material basis. Yield, potency, moisture, and disposition counts answer different questions; a consistent calculation does not by itself authorize a product or establish manufacturing compliance.

Scale the reference component by target/reference batch and add fixedLoss for totalRequired.

When to use this tool

Use GMP Batch Size Scale One Component when you need an explicit manufacturing quantity reconciliation or supplied-factor adjustment.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter referenceBatch, targetBatch, referenceComponent, fixedLoss. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read scale, proportionalComponent, totalRequired. Use the output convention below.

Require positive referenceBatch and nonnegative targetBatch, referenceComponent, and fixedLoss. Scale the reference component by target/reference batch and add fixedLoss for totalRequired.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Batch sizes use compatible quantity bases and component/loss use one unit; no nonlinear scale-up effects, validated recipe, safe formulation, or actual process loss is inferred.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Reconcile authenticated batch records and approved methods before interpreting the arithmetic. Product release, potency interpretation, and process suitability require the applicable quality procedures and responsible review.
