GLP Study Phase Time Base Flag Tool

Compare supplied study-phase duration to elapsed or pause-excluded time.

Description

Choose full or active-time denominator and divide phaseTime by it.

Laboratory intervals can describe expiry, retention, sample return, or correction timing. Exact dates and uncertain date ranges have different boundary meanings; numeric interval arithmetic does not establish a regulatory retention or expiry policy.

Choose full or active-time denominator and divide phaseTime by it.

When to use this tool

Use GLP Study Phase Time Base Flag when you need a laboratory duration or interval comparison under an explicit timing rule.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter totalTime, phaseTime, pausedTime, useActiveBase. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read denominator, phaseFraction. Use the output convention below.

Require positive totalTime, pausedTime strictly below it, and phaseTime within totalTime-pausedTime. Choose full or active-time denominator and divide phaseTime by it.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
totalTimeTotal TimeRequired. Finite number; strictly above 0.

pausedTimePaused TimeRequired. Finite number; minimum 0.
useActiveBaseUse Active BaseRequired. Boolean.

denominatorDenominatorRequired. Finite number.
phaseFractionPhase FractionRequired. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • The stricter phase bound applies to either denominator; units must match and no study clock policy, activity validity, or GLP compliance is selected.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Consult the controlled study and retention procedures for the applicable time convention. Authenticate the source dates and resolve uncertain endpoints before making a disposition decision.
