GLP Study Phase Duration Clock Pause Tool

Calculate glp study phase duration clock pause from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Return full calendar duration, elapsed minus suspension, and elapsed plus reporting lag.

Laboratory intervals can describe expiry, retention, sample return, or correction timing. Exact dates and uncertain date ranges have different boundary meanings; numeric interval arithmetic does not establish a regulatory retention or expiry policy.

Return full calendar duration, elapsed minus suspension, and elapsed plus reporting lag.

When to use this tool

Use GLP Study Phase Duration Clock Pause when you need a laboratory duration or interval comparison under an explicit timing rule.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter start, end, suspension, reportingLag. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read calendarDuration, activeDuration, totalToReport. Use the output convention below.

Require ordered endpoints, suspension within elapsed, and nonnegative reportingLag. Return full calendar duration, elapsed minus suspension, and elapsed plus reporting lag.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Reporting lag is added to calendar duration rather than active duration; numeric times do not validate actual study phases, justified suspensions, or required reporting deadlines.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Consult the controlled study and retention procedures for the applicable time convention. Authenticate the source dates and resolve uncertain endpoints before making a disposition decision.
