GLP Reagent Expiry Precision Tool

Compare a supplied day against an uncertain expiry boundary without deciding reagent usability.

Description

Mark definitelyBeforeExpiry only below the lower bound, definitelyAfterExpiry only above the upper bound, and ambiguous at either bound and throughout the interval.

Laboratory intervals can describe expiry, retention, sample return, or correction timing. Exact dates and uncertain date ranges have different boundary meanings; numeric interval arithmetic does not establish a regulatory retention or expiry policy.

Mark definitelyBeforeExpiry only below the lower bound, definitelyAfterExpiry only above the upper bound, and ambiguous at either bound and throughout the interval.

When to use this tool

Use GLP Reagent Expiry Precision when you need a laboratory duration or interval comparison under an explicit timing rule.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter expiryLower, expiryUpper, checkDay. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read definitelyBeforeExpiry, definitelyAfterExpiry, ambiguous. Inspect definitelyBeforeExpiry, definitelyAfterExpiry, ambiguous before interpreting the associated values.

Require ordered expiryLower and expiryUpper. Mark definitelyBeforeExpiry only below the lower bound, definitelyAfterExpiry only above the upper bound, and ambiguous at either bound and throughout the interval.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Coordinates share a day basis; even a collapsed bound is ambiguous at equality, and the tool does not select a manufacturer's expiry convention or determine reagent suitability.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Consult the controlled study and retention procedures for the applicable time convention. Authenticate the source dates and resolve uncertain endpoints before making a disposition decision.
