Description

Return extended due date coordinate, elapsed loan duration, and positive overdue duration.

Laboratory intervals can describe expiry, retention, sample return, or correction timing. Exact dates and uncertain date ranges have different boundary meanings; numeric interval arithmetic does not establish a regulatory retention or expiry policy.

Return extended due date coordinate, elapsed loan duration, and positive overdue duration.

When to use this tool

Use GLP Archive Loan Return Window Gap when you need a laboratory duration or interval comparison under an explicit timing rule.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter loanDay, expectedReturn, actualReturn, returned, today, extension. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read effectiveDue, elapsed, overdue. Use the output convention below.

Require nonnegative integer extension, expectedReturn no earlier than loanDay, and the selected actualReturn or today no earlier than loanDay. Return extended due date coordinate, elapsed loan duration, and positive overdue duration.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Only the selected endpoint is used for elapsed validation; this does not parse dates, establish a lawful archive-loan extension, or confirm actual return and custody.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Consult the controlled study and retention procedures for the applicable time convention. Authenticate the source dates and resolve uncertain endpoints before making a disposition decision.
