Description
Record the source convention for an east/west longitude label.
Geographic coordinates use explicit angular, axis and vertical-datum conventions. Unwrapped longitude difference differs from the shortest circular separation, and a north-based bearing differs from a rightward-zero screen rotation. Ellipsoidal and orthometric heights require a compatible geoid-undulation model.
Record the source convention for an east/west longitude label.
When to use this tool
Use Longitude East West Source Label when checking the stated geographic label, angular or height-reference convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter recordId, longitudeText, conventionSource. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read token. Use the output convention below.
Require nonempty record ID, longitude text and convention source. Encode the ordered triple as JSON text.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| recordId | Nonempty caller-supplied record label; not independently resolved. | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| longitudeText | Longitude Text | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| conventionSource | Convention Source | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| token | JSON-encoded ordered tuple or literal token under the convention above; not a database lookup or authentication result. | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |

"input": {

"longitudeText": "73 W",
"conventionSource": "Map A"
},
"output": {
"token": "[\"R17\",\"73 W\",\"Map A\"]"

} Limitations and assumptions
- Longitude is not parsed, range-checked, converted or interpreted as east/west; source authenticity is not established.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use authoritative coordinate/datum definitions and appropriate geodesic, projection and geoid models for actual locations, distances and height conversion.
