Research Endoscopy Segment Time Tool

Timing of a supplied research recording segment, without evaluating a procedure or recommending durations.

Loading tool…

Description

Return elapsed and elapsed minus pause as activeDuration.

Research timing records need a common clock origin, time unit and observation boundary. A corrected interval or censored duration describes the supplied recording model; it does not by itself measure physiological transit or establish a diagnosis.

Return elapsed and elapsed minus pause as activeDuration.

When to use this tool

Use Research Endoscopy Segment Time when you need a research timing, frame or clock-reference calculation.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter segmentStart, segmentEnd, paused. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read elapsed, activeDuration. Use the output convention below.

Require ordered segment endpoints and pause from zero through elapsed time. Return elapsed and elapsed minus pause as activeDuration.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The pause is supplied, not derived from recordings; no procedure quality, diagnosis, or clinical timing threshold is assessed.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use original timestamps and the study protocol to resolve timing conventions. Physiological interpretation requires the appropriate clinical or research assessment, including observation and calibration uncertainty.
