Description
Multiply them for area.
Image measurements depend on calibration, visibility and which observations count. Pixel area and duration-weighted image coverage are different quantities, and neither alone establishes that an image supports clinical interpretation.
Multiply them for area.
When to use this tool
Use Endoscopy Region Area Factor when you need a calibrated image quantity or explicit coverage summary.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter pixelCount, areaPerPixel. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read area. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative integer pixelCount and positive areaPerPixel. Multiply them for area.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| pixelCount | Pixel Count | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| areaPerPixel | Positive physical area per counted pixel, in the desired area unit. | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| area | Area in the square of the common length unit. | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- AreaPerPixel is calibrated physical area per pixel, not a linear pixel scale. Calibration, segmentation, perspective and clinical significance are not verified.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Inspect original images and calibration records using the intended study method. A complete assessment may require segmentation, perspective correction, uncertainty and qualified interpretation.
