Endoscopy Frame Valid Share Tool

Account for explicitly supplied research frame visibility and interpretability flags; no image diagnosis.

Description

Sum visible durations and visible-and-interpretable durations; divide the latter by the former, or return zero with defined false.

Image measurements depend on calibration, visibility and which observations count. Pixel area and duration-weighted image coverage are different quantities, and neither alone establishes that an image supports clinical interpretation.

Sum visible durations and visible-and-interpretable durations; divide the latter by the former, or return zero with defined false.

When to use this tool

Use Endoscopy Frame Valid Share when you need a calibrated image quantity or explicit coverage summary.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter frameDurations, regionVisible, interpretable. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read visibleDuration, interpretableDuration, share, defined. Inspect defined before interpreting the associated values.

Require aligned nonnegative frame durations and visibility/interpretability flags. Sum visible durations and visible-and-interpretable durations; divide the latter by the former, or return zero with defined false.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The denominator excludes invisible regions and weights by duration rather than frame count. Supplied image-quality flags do not establish clinical adequacy.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Inspect original images and calibration records using the intended study method. A complete assessment may require segmentation, perspective correction, uncertainty and qualified interpretation.
