Digestive Assay Mass Basis Factor Tool

Signed blank-corrected research assay normalization using a supplied calibration; no clinical range.

Description

Compute dry mass and divide blank-corrected signal times calibration by dry mass.

Specimen quantities can be reported on a volume, wet-mass or dry-mass basis. Conversion factors and usable-volume assumptions change the denominator; they do not validate the specimen or turn a numerical ratio into a clinical result.

Compute dry mass and divide blank-corrected signal times calibration by dry mass.

When to use this tool

Use Digestive Assay Mass Basis Factor when you need a specimen-volume or supplied mass-basis calculation.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter signal, blank, wetMass, dryFraction, suppliedCalibration. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read dryMass, amountPerDryMass. Use the output convention below.

Require positive wetMass and calibration and dryFraction in (0, 1]. Compute dry mass and divide blank-corrected signal times calibration by dry mass.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Dry fraction is dry/wet mass, not percent. Negative corrected amounts are retained; units depend on calibration and no assay recovery or diagnosis is inferred.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the analytical preparation and source records for units, blanks, recovery and sample condition. Use a validated method and appropriate professional interpretation for health decisions.
