Description
Multiply them for convertedVolume.
Specimen quantities can be reported on a volume, wet-mass or dry-mass basis. Conversion factors and usable-volume assumptions change the denominator; they do not validate the specimen or turn a numerical ratio into a clinical result.
Multiply them for convertedVolume.
When to use this tool
Use Diary Event Volume Unit Factor when you need a specimen-volume or supplied mass-basis calculation.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter recordedVolume, sourceToTargetFactor. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read convertedVolume. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative recordedVolume and positive sourceToTargetFactor. Multiply them for convertedVolume.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| recordedVolume | Recorded Volume | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| sourceToTargetFactor | Source To Target Factor | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| convertedVolume | Converted Volume | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The factor is target units per source unit and is supplied rather than selected from unit names. No biological interpretation or source-unit verification occurs.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review the analytical preparation and source records for units, blanks, recovery and sample condition. Use a validated method and appropriate professional interpretation for health decisions.
