Recipe Batch Scale Factor

Scale an explicit ingredient mass proportionally between supplied batch masses without adjusting process conditions.

Description

Calculate an explicit recipe batch scaling factor.

Food-technology measurements distinguish ingredient/batch mass, wet- and dry-basis moisture, solids fractions, throughput and optical or mechanical coordinates. A mass scaling or local signal contribution does not validate a process, sensory outcome or safe product. Physical units and analytical bases must be explicit.

Calculate an explicit recipe batch scaling factor.

When to use this tool

Use Recipe Batch Scale Factor when checking the stated benign food-material, throughput, color or mechanical term.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter referenceBatchMass, targetBatchMass, referenceIngredientMass. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read scaleFactor, scaledIngredientMass. Use the output convention below.

Require referenceBatchMass>0 and nonnegative target batch/ingredient masses. Return target/reference scaleFactor and reference ingredient*factor.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Assumes linear mass scaling; no recipe feasibility, process adjustment, allergen handling or microbial safety is evaluated.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified measurements and complete appropriate food/process methods with qualified food-safety and technical assessment for actual production or consumption decisions.
