Description
Separate soluble and insoluble solids and calculate the soluble share of total solids.
Food-technology measurements distinguish ingredient/batch mass, wet- and dry-basis moisture, solids fractions, throughput and optical or mechanical coordinates. A mass scaling or local signal contribution does not validate a process, sensory outcome or safe product. Physical units and analytical bases must be explicit.
Separate soluble and insoluble solids and calculate the soluble share of total solids.
When to use this tool
Use Food Soluble Insoluble Solids Pair when checking the stated benign food-material, throughput, color or mechanical term.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter totalSolidsMass, solubleSolidsMass. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read insolubleSolidsMass, solubleShareOfSolids. Use the output convention below.
Require totalSolidsMass>0 and solubleSolidsMass within total. Return total-soluble insoluble mass and soluble/total solids share.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| totalSolidsMass | Total Solids Mass | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| solubleSolidsMass | Soluble Solids Mass | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| insolubleSolidsMass | Insoluble Solids Mass | Required. Finite number. |
| solubleShareOfSolids | Soluble mass/total solids mass, not soluble mass/whole wet food mass. | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The denominator is total solids rather than total wet food mass; no assay, solubility condition or actual composition is verified.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
