Description
Measure the time gap recorded for a held food sample.
Food-safety records connect lots, certificates, control-point limits, sample times and recall communications. A recorded signoff or allergen label does not prove that a hazard is controlled. Traceability, validated limits and actual product conditions need the complete food-safety system and qualified review.
Measure the time gap recorded for a held food sample.
When to use this tool
Use Food Sample Hold Time Record Gap when checking the stated food-safety metadata, chronology or acknowledgment convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter collectionSeconds, analysisSeconds. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read signedGap. Use the output convention below.
Return analysisSeconds-collectionSeconds as a signed gap.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| collectionSeconds | Collection Seconds | Required. Finite number. |
| analysisSeconds | Analysis Seconds | Required. Finite number. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| signedGap | Signed first/second difference in the direction and units specified above. | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- No sample chronology, allowable holding time, preservation condition or analytical suitability is determined.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified records, validated hazard-control methods and applicable requirements with qualified food-safety professionals for actual product release, handling or consumption decisions.
