Description
Calculate an early-payment discount and remaining vendor payment from a supplied discount fraction.
Financial bookkeeping uses explicit invoice, credit, withholding, day-count and quote bases. A supplied deduction or rate defines an arithmetic scenario without determining actual contractual or tax rights. Discount reference shifts and prices per hundred face value need their own direction and unit conventions.

} Limitations and assumptions
- The discount is a supplied fraction of the invoice; timing eligibility, taxes, contracts and whether early payment is beneficial are not determined.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
