Description
Apply one supplied write-off to an outstanding balance.
Financial bookkeeping uses explicit invoice, credit, withholding, day-count and quote bases. A supplied deduction or rate defines an arithmetic scenario without determining actual contractual or tax rights. Discount reference shifts and prices per hundred face value need their own direction and unit conventions.
Apply one supplied write-off to an outstanding balance.
When to use this tool
Use Outstanding Balance Single Write Off when checking the stated caller-defined balance, rate, accrual or quote convention.
How to use the tool and how it works

} Limitations and assumptions
- Negative remaining balances are retained; no lawful write-off, accounting approval or actual debt discharge is established.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
