Description
Calculate a trial's realized payoff using supplied outcome and reward assumptions.
Experimental-psychology records separate condition labels, declared masking, timing assumptions, response rules and reward realizations. A supplied random draw can be evaluated without generating randomness, and a threshold comparison does not verify preregistration or establish statistical significance. Experimental validity needs the complete design and source observations.
Calculate a trial's realized payoff using supplied outcome and reward assumptions.
When to use this tool
Use Trial Payoff Realized Amount when checking the stated benign experiment record, timing, allocation or payoff convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter basePayoff, bonusIfEligible, bonusEligible. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read realizedAmount. Use the output convention below.
Return basePayoff plus bonusIfEligible only when bonusEligible=true, preserving signed values.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| basePayoff | Base Payoff | Required. Finite number. |
| bonusIfEligible | Bonus If Eligible | Required. Finite number. |
| bonusEligible | Bonus Eligible | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| realizedAmount | Realized Amount | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Payoffs and eligibility are supplied; no reward is randomized, paid or checked against a study agreement.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified protocols, calibrated timing, appropriate complete statistical methods and responsible participant/ethics review for actual experimental conclusions.
