Description
Evaluate a reward lottery using a supplied draw, win probability and rewards.
Experimental-psychology records separate condition labels, declared masking, timing assumptions, response rules and reward realizations. A supplied random draw can be evaluated without generating randomness, and a threshold comparison does not verify preregistration or establish statistical significance. Experimental validity needs the complete design and source observations.
Evaluate a reward lottery using a supplied draw, win probability and rewards.
When to use this tool
Use Experiment Reward Lottery Realization when checking the stated benign experiment record, timing, allocation or payoff convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter suppliedUniformDraw, winProbability, winningReward, losingReward. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read won, realizedReward. Inspect won before interpreting the associated values.
Require suppliedUniformDraw in [0,1) and winProbability in [0,1]. A draw strictly below winProbability wins; return the corresponding signed winning/losing reward.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| suppliedUniformDraw | Caller-supplied value in [0,1); no random draw generated. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; strictly below 1. |
| winProbability | Win Probability | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; maximum 1. |
| winningReward | Winning Reward | Required. Finite number. |
| losingReward | Losing Reward | Required. Finite number. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| won | Strict draw<probability, so equality loses. | Required. Boolean. |
| realizedReward | Realized Reward | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Equality loses; no randomness is generated, uniformity verified or reward paid. The supplied draw determines a single realization rather than expected reward.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified protocols, calibrated timing, appropriate complete statistical methods and responsible participant/ethics review for actual experimental conclusions.
