Settler Sludge Blanket Depth Reference Offset

Apply a signed caller-supplied depth-datum offset without a settling model or process interpretation.

Loading tool…

Description

Add a supplied depth-reference offset to a measured sludge-blanket depth.

Environmental engineering quantities depend on compatible mass/volume units, reference levels, usable geometry and complete flow boundaries. Nominal bed volume differs from pore-water volume, and hydraulic surface loading differs from pore velocity. A supplied removal or recovery fraction does not establish actual treatment performance or safe operation.

Add a supplied depth-reference offset to a measured sludge-blanket depth.

When to use this tool

Use Settler Sludge Blanket Depth Reference Offset when checking the stated benign engineering mass, volume, reference or throughput term.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter measuredDepth, datumOffset. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read referencedDepth. Use the output convention below.

Return measuredDepth+datumOffset as referencedDepth in one common length unit.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
measuredDepthMeasured DepthRequired. Finite number.
datumOffsetDatum OffsetRequired. Finite number.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
referencedDepthReferenced DepthRequired. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • The offset and positive-depth convention are supplied; no sensor, sludge boundary or actual reference datum is verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use measured operating conditions, verified equipment properties and a complete suitable process model with qualified engineering/environmental review for actual design and operation.
