Sensor Fouling Baseline Correction Term Tool

Subtract an explicit additive fouling bias from an environmental sensor reading without deriving a correction or certifying calibration.

Loading tool…

Description

Subtract a supplied fouling-baseline contribution from a sensor reading.

Environmental engineering quantities depend on compatible mass/volume units, reference levels, usable geometry and complete flow boundaries. Nominal bed volume differs from pore-water volume, and hydraulic surface loading differs from pore velocity. A supplied removal or recovery fraction does not establish actual treatment performance or safe operation.

Subtract a supplied fouling-baseline contribution from a sensor reading.

When to use this tool

Use Sensor Fouling Baseline Correction Term when checking the stated benign engineering mass, volume, reference or throughput term.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter rawReading, suppliedAdditiveFoulingBias. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read correctedReading. Use the output convention below.

Return rawReading-suppliedAdditiveFoulingBias.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Bias is supplied, not estimated; additive correction does not establish sensor cleanliness, a valid calibration or an accurate environmental measurement.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use measured operating conditions, verified equipment properties and a complete suitable process model with qualified engineering/environmental review for actual design and operation.
