Description
closingVolume = openingVolume+accruedVolume-exercisedVolume-expiredVolume.
Energy contracts and credit accounts distinguish quantities accrued, used, available, curtailed, expired or qualified. A numeric balance applies an explicit convention; it does not establish which contractual or market rules actually apply.
closingVolume = openingVolume+accruedVolume-exercisedVolume-expiredVolume.
When to use this tool
Use Energy Contract Makeup Gas Credit Balance when reconciling a specified energy credit, allocation or settlement term.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter openingVolume, accruedVolume, exercisedVolume, expiredVolume. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read closingVolume. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative openingVolume, accruedVolume, exercisedVolume and expiredVolume, with exercisedVolume+expiredVolume <= openingVolume+accruedVolume. closingVolume = openingVolume+accruedVolume-exercisedVolume-expiredVolume.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| openingVolume | Opening Volume | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| accruedVolume | Accrued Volume | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| exercisedVolume | Exercised Volume | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| expiredVolume | Expired Volume | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| closingVolume | Closing Volume | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Use one gas-volume basis. This reconciles supplied makeup-credit quantities without selecting contractual accrual, expiry or exercise rights.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review actual program rules, contract terms and dated records before treating a calculated balance or payment as due.
