Description
Calculate a supplied handoff gap after subtracting a receiver-clock offset.
Emergency records distinguish event clocks, retrospective entry times, equipment dates, encounter identifiers and recorded triage or laboratory states. A supplied time gap is not a verified performance measure, and a recorded seal expiry does not establish equipment readiness. Simulation duty fractions and role labels describe training records rather than emergency-care instructions.
Calculate a supplied handoff gap after subtracting a receiver-clock offset.
When to use this tool
Use Emergency Handoff Clock Delta when you already have sendingClockSeconds, receivingClockSeconds, suppliedClockOffsetSeconds and need to calculate a supplied handoff gap after subtracting a receiver-clock offset.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter sendingClockSeconds, receivingClockSeconds, suppliedClockOffsetSeconds. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read correctedHandoffGapSeconds. Use the output convention below.
Return receivingClockSeconds-suppliedClockOffsetSeconds-sendingClockSeconds.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| sendingClockSeconds | Sending Clock Seconds | Required. Finite number. |
| receivingClockSeconds | Receiving Clock Seconds | Required. Finite number. |
| suppliedClockOffsetSeconds | Amount subtracted from the receiving clock before comparing it with the sending clock. | Required. Finite number. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| correctedHandoffGapSeconds | Corrected Handoff Gap Seconds | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The supplied offset must put receiving time onto the sending reference. No synchronization, clock drift, event order or safe handoff is verified.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review the actual event, equipment and laboratory records with verified timing and the complete clinical workflow. Treat local flags and interval arithmetic as record checks; they do not supply triage, response protocols, safe staffing or an assessment of a real emergency.
