Battery Soc Charge Count Increment Tool

Signed coulomb-count increment, charging positive; final SOC is intentionally not clipped to hide overrun.

Description

Apply an explicit signed current-time charge increment to an initial state of charge without clamping the result.

Battery state-of-charge and efficiency terms need explicit sign, capacity, cycle and time conventions. Charge efficiency differs from energy efficiency, and an arithmetic update is not necessarily physically bounded or a battery-health assessment.

Apply an explicit signed current-time charge increment to an initial state of charge without clamping the result.

When to use this tool

Use Battery Soc Charge Count Increment when checking one supplied battery charge, voltage or SOC contribution.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter initialSoc, signedCurrentA, durationHours, capacityAh, efficiency. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read socIncrement, finalSoc. Use the output convention below.

Require initialSoc and efficiency in [0,1], nonnegative durationHours and positive capacityAh. socIncrement = signedCurrentA*durationHours*efficiency/capacityAh; finalSoc = initialSoc+socIncrement.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Positive current increases SOC and the same efficiency multiplier applies in either direction. Final SOC is not clamped to [0,1]; capacity ageing and actual battery protection are not modeled.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use a validated battery model, measurements and manufacturer constraints for operation, protection or health assessment.
