Description
efficiency = dischargeAh/chargeAh; unrecoveredAh = chargeAh-dischargeAh.
Battery state-of-charge and efficiency terms need explicit sign, capacity, cycle and time conventions. Charge efficiency differs from energy efficiency, and an arithmetic update is not necessarily physically bounded or a battery-health assessment.
efficiency = dischargeAh/chargeAh; unrecoveredAh = chargeAh-dischargeAh.
When to use this tool
Use Battery Coulombic Efficiency One Cycle when checking one supplied battery charge, voltage or SOC contribution.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter chargeAh, dischargeAh. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read efficiency, unrecoveredAh. Use the output convention below.
Require positive chargeAh and nonnegative dischargeAh. efficiency = dischargeAh/chargeAh; unrecoveredAh = chargeAh-dischargeAh.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| chargeAh | Charge Ah | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| dischargeAh | Discharge Ah | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| efficiency | Discharge Ah divided by charge Ah; not constrained to at most one. | Required. Finite number. |
| unrecoveredAh | Unrecovered Ah | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Efficiency can exceed one and unrecovered charge can be negative. Cycle boundaries and measurement quality are supplied; this is charge efficiency, not energy efficiency or battery health diagnosis.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use a validated battery model, measurements and manufacturer constraints for operation, protection or health assessment.
