Description
Multiply the earned fraction by criterion weight for weightedContribution.

Multiply the earned fraction by criterion weight for weightedContribution.
When to use this tool
Use Rubric Single Criterion Weighted Points when you need one educational administration or planning component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter earnedPoints, possiblePoints, criterionWeight. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read weightedContribution. Use the output convention below.
Require earnedPoints within positive possiblePoints and nonnegative criterionWeight. Multiply the earned fraction by criterion weight for weightedContribution.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |

| earnedPoints | Earned Points | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| possiblePoints | Possible Points | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| criterionWeight | Criterion Weight | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |

| weightedContribution | Weighted Contribution | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Weight need not be a normalized fraction; this is one rubric term without validating fairness, learning attainment, total grade, or assessment policy.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
