Recipe Nutrient Retention One Ingredient Term Tool

One ingredient contribution using a supplied retention factor, without a food-composition lookup or dietary recommendation.

Description

Return one ingredient's retained nutrient and amount per serving.

A food nutrient amount depends on mass, composition, retention and the chosen reference or exchange convention. Nitrogen-derived protein and a single amino-acid ratio are analytical terms rather than complete measures of dietary adequacy.

Return one ingredient's retained nutrient and amount per serving.

When to use this tool

Use Recipe Nutrient Retention One Ingredient Term when checking a supplied nutrient amount, protein factor or reporting normalization.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter rawMass, nutrientPerMass, retainedFraction, recipeServings. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read retainedNutrient, perServing. Use the output convention below.

Return one ingredient's retained nutrient and amount per serving. Require nonnegative rawMass and nutrientPerMass, retainedFraction in [0,1] and positive recipeServings; multiply mass, concentration and retention, then divide by servings.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Servings may be fractional; retention and composition are supplied rather than recommended or validated.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use appropriate food-composition and analytical sources, and professional dietary guidance for individual requirements or treatment plans.
