Description
Estimate nutrient consumption after dish leftovers.
A food nutrient amount depends on mass, composition, retention and the chosen reference or exchange convention. Nitrogen-derived protein and a single amino-acid ratio are analytical terms rather than complete measures of dietary adequacy.
Estimate nutrient consumption after dish leftovers.
When to use this tool
Use Food Record Dish Leftover Nutrient Term when checking a supplied nutrient amount, protein factor or reporting normalization.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter servedMass, leftoverMass, nutrientPerMass. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read consumedMass, consumedNutrient. Use the output convention below.
Estimate nutrient consumption after dish leftovers. Require 0 <= leftoverMass <= servedMass and nonnegative nutrientPerMass; consumedMass = served-leftover, consumedNutrient = consumedMass*concentration.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| servedMass | Served Mass | Required. Finite number. |
| leftoverMass | Leftover Mass | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| nutrientPerMass | Nutrient Per Mass | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| consumedMass | Consumed Mass | Required. Finite number. |
| consumedNutrient | Consumed Nutrient | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Uniform composition is assumed; selective leftovers and actual ingestion are not independently determined.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
