Developmental Study Corrected Age Anchor Tool

Research age arithmetic using an explicit full-term anchor; negative corrected ages are retained, with no developmental diagnosis or clinical rule.

Description

Return a supplied prematurity correction and resulting age.

Chronological, corrected and age-equivalent values use different anchors and assumptions. Arithmetic can compare supplied age coordinates, but a clinical correction or interpretation of developmental delay is not determined by subtraction alone.

Return a supplied prematurity correction and resulting age.

When to use this tool

Use Developmental Study Corrected Age Anchor when checking a supplied research age anchor or offset.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter chronologicalDays, gestationalDays, fullTermDays. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read prematurityDays, correctedDays. Use the output convention below.

Return a supplied prematurity correction and resulting age. Require nonnegative whole chronologicalDays and positive whole gestationalDays/fullTermDays; prematurityDays = max(0,fullTerm-gestational), correctedDays = chronological-prematurity.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Corrected age may be negative; full-term reference and clinical applicability are not selected.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the appropriate professional guidance and validated assessment before interpreting corrected or age-equivalent values for an individual.
