Infancy Age Anchor Correction Gap Tool

Compare supplied research age anchors; does not choose a clinical age correction.

Description

Compare age under two supplied birth anchors.

Chronological, corrected and age-equivalent values use different anchors and assumptions. Arithmetic can compare supplied age coordinates, but a clinical correction or interpretation of developmental delay is not determined by subtraction alone.

Compare age under two supplied birth anchors.

When to use this tool

Use Infancy Age Anchor Correction Gap when checking a supplied research age anchor or offset.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter observationDay, recordedBirthDay, correctedBirthDay. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read recordedAge, correctedAge, gap. Use the output convention below.

Compare age under two supplied birth anchors. Require observationDay at or after both; return observation minus each birth day and gap = recordedBirthDay-correctedBirthDay.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Gap equals correctedAge-recordedAge; calendar origin and validity of the correction are supplied.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the appropriate professional guidance and validated assessment before interpreting corrected or age-equivalent values for an individual.
