Description

Compare familiarity flags and exposure counts for two study toys.

Developmental research records may encode task eligibility, known responses, observer roles and withdrawal. A flag or support share describes supplied observations and does not independently assess a child, verify consent or establish a clinical interpretation.

Compare familiarity flags and exposure counts for two study toys.

When to use this tool

Use Child Study Toy Familiarity Pair when checking explicit developmental-study record and observation rules.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter firstKnown, secondKnown, firstExposureCount, secondExposureCount. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read matchedFamiliarity, exposureGap. Inspect matchedFamiliarity before interpreting the associated values.

Compare familiarity flags and exposure counts for two study toys. Require nonnegative whole counts; matchedFamiliarity tests flag equality, exposureGap = secondCount-firstCount.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Both unknown flags can match; equal labels do not establish equal actual familiarity.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use an approved study protocol and appropriate professional assessment for participant decisions, developmental interpretation or clinical questions.
