Child Study Instruction Repeat Count Tool

Calculate child study instruction repeat count from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Return instruction-presentation totals and remaining budget.

Developmental research records may encode task eligibility, known responses, observer roles and withdrawal. A flag or support share describes supplied observations and does not independently assess a child, verify consent or establish a clinical interpretation.

Return instruction-presentation totals and remaining budget.

When to use this tool

Use Child Study Instruction Repeat Count when checking explicit developmental-study record and observation rules.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter initialPresentations, repeats, maximumPresentations. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read total, remaining, exceeded. Inspect exceeded before interpreting the associated values.

Return instruction-presentation totals and remaining budget. Require nonnegative whole initialPresentations, repeats and maximumPresentations; total = initial+repeats, remaining = maximum-total, exceeded uses strict >.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input

maximumPresentationsMaximum PresentationsRequired. Safe integer; minimum 0.

totalTotalRequired. Safe integer.
remainingBudget minus use, in the same units; a negative value indicates excess use.Required. Safe integer.
exceededExceededRequired. Boolean.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Negative remaining is retained; the supplied maximum is not a recommended child-testing protocol.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use an approved study protocol and appropriate professional assessment for participant decisions, developmental interpretation or clinical questions.
