Stage Support Time Share Tool

Calculate stage support time share from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Return verified-duration support within one selected developmental stage.

Developmental stages and lineages can be represented by labels, ordered events and observation intervals. Index and time differences preserve a declared representation but do not discover lineage, assign stage or establish biological equivalence.

Return verified-duration support within one selected developmental stage.

When to use this tool

Use Stage Support Time Share when checking an explicit stage, lineage or observation-coordinate convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter stageLabels, durations, verifiedStage, selectedStage. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read stageDuration, supportedDuration, share, defined. Inspect defined before interpreting the associated values.

Return verified-duration support within one selected developmental stage. Require aligned nonnegative durations; sum selected-stage time and its verified subset, dividing only for positive stageDuration, otherwise zero with defined = false.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Stage labels and verification flags are supplied; no biological stage is independently assigned.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the original biological evidence and its staging or lineage model before drawing mechanistic conclusions.
