Embryo Stage Time Anchor Offset Tool

Relative time from a caller-supplied developmental-stage anchor, without assigning a biological stage.

Description

Return an embryo-stage time offset and supplied rate scaling.

Developmental stages and lineages can be represented by labels, ordered events and observation intervals. Index and time differences preserve a declared representation but do not discover lineage, assign stage or establish biological equivalence.

Return an embryo-stage time offset and supplied rate scaling.

When to use this tool

Use Embryo Stage Time Anchor Offset when checking an explicit stage, lineage or observation-coordinate convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter observedTime, anchorTime, rate. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read offset, scaledOffset. Use the output convention below.

Return an embryo-stage time offset and supplied rate scaling. Require rate > 0; offset = observedTime-anchorTime, scaledOffset = offset*rate.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
observedTimeObserved TimeRequired. Finite number.
anchorTimeAnchor TimeRequired. Finite number.
rateRateRequired. Finite number; strictly above 0.

offsetOffsetRequired. Finite number.
scaledOffsetScaled OffsetRequired. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • The rate's units define the scaled result; no stage time or developmental tempo is estimated.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the original biological evidence and its staging or lineage model before drawing mechanistic conclusions.
