Description
Return one age group's population share and per-capita fiscal contribution.
Demographic economic terms combine population, monetary flows, taxes and discount conventions. A local cohort contribution or supplied income comparison is not a complete fiscal projection, benefit entitlement or individual financial forecast.
Return one age group's population share and per-capita fiscal contribution.
When to use this tool
Use Population Ageing One Group Weight when checking one declared cohort financial or fiscal contribution.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter groupPopulation, totalPopulation, groupFiscalCost. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read share, weightedPerCapitaCost. Use the output convention below.
Return one age group's population share and per-capita fiscal contribution. Require positive totalPopulation and groupPopulation in [0,total]; weightedPerCapitaCost = groupPopulation*groupFiscalCost/totalPopulation.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| groupPopulation | Group Population | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| totalPopulation | Total Population | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| groupFiscalCost | Group Fiscal Cost | Required. Finite number. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| share | Dimensionless ratio on the explicitly stated numerator and denominator basis. | Required. Finite number. |
| weightedPerCapitaCost | Weighted Per Capita Cost | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The group's signed cost and population basis are supplied; no causal ageing effect is established.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use complete population accounts, applicable policy and justified economic assumptions before making financial or public-policy decisions.
