Description

Return aggregate cohort taxable income with participation weighting.

Demographic economic terms combine population, monetary flows, taxes and discount conventions. A local cohort contribution or supplied income comparison is not a complete fiscal projection, benefit entitlement or individual financial forecast.

Return aggregate cohort taxable income with participation weighting.

When to use this tool

Use Cohort Tax Base Age Weight Term when checking one declared cohort financial or fiscal contribution.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter cohortCounts, taxablePerPerson, participationFractions. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read taxBase. Use the output convention below.

Return aggregate cohort taxable income with participation weighting. Require aligned nonnegative cohortCounts/taxablePerPerson and fractions in [0,1]; sum count*taxable amount*participation.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Counts may be fractional weights; tax definitions, participation evidence and assessment rules are supplied.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use complete population accounts, applicable policy and justified economic assumptions before making financial or public-policy decisions.
