Description
Calculate participation-weighted supplied person-years.
Demographic economic terms depend on age-window boundaries, population scope, household equivalence units and supplied fiscal assumptions. A worker-share change is not an estimated demographic dividend, and endpoint survivors times duration differ from integrated life-table person-years. Local pension or subsidy calculations do not determine actual eligibility or entitlement.
Calculate participation-weighted supplied person-years.
When to use this tool
Use Person Year Participation Weight when you already have observedDays, yearDays, participationFraction and need to calculate participation-weighted supplied person-years.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter observedDays, yearDays, participationFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read weightedPersonYears. Use the output convention below.
Require observedDays>=0, yearDays>0 and participationFraction in [0,1]; return observedDays/yearDays*participationFraction.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| observedDays | Observed Days | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| yearDays | Positive supplied denominator; no fixed calendar-year length is chosen. | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| participationFraction | Participation Fraction | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; maximum 1. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| weightedPersonYears | Weighted Person Years | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Observed days may exceed a year. Year length and participation are supplied; no age exposure, actual labor participation or calendar convention is inferred.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use complete population, cohort, labor and fiscal records with the chosen equivalence and exposure definitions. Review applicable benefit rules and estimate the appropriate model for policy analysis; one supplied allocation or accounting ratio does not establish behavior or economic effects.
