Description
Return equivalent consumers and a reference-normalized contribution.
Demographic support and equivalence ratios depend on age cutoffs, participation and supplied household or consumer weights. Weighted population quantities describe the chosen accounting basis rather than actual needs or social value.
Return equivalent consumers and a reference-normalized contribution.
When to use this tool
Use Equivalent Consumer Age Weight Term when checking a supplied demographic classification or weighting convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter count, consumerWeight, referenceCount. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read equivalentConsumers, contributionPerReference. Use the output convention below.
Return equivalent consumers and a reference-normalized contribution. Require nonnegative whole count, nonnegative consumerWeight and positive whole referenceCount; contributionPerReference = count*weight/referenceCount.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| count | Count | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| consumerWeight | Consumer Weight | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| referenceCount | Reference Count | Required. Safe integer; minimum 1. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| equivalentConsumers | Equivalent Consumers | Required. Finite number. |
| contributionPerReference | Contribution Per Reference | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- This weighted bookkeeping does not validate consumption needs, participation or population comparability.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use documented population definitions and appropriate empirical weights for complete demographic or household analysis.
