Description
Return one source's share of a unit-matched corpus.
Source support, credit and authorization are different concepts. Supplied flags and vocabularies can support record bookkeeping but cannot independently establish consent, cultural authority, equitable credit or legal reuse rights.
Return one source's share of a unit-matched corpus.
When to use this tool
Use Public Corpus Source Share when checking one explicitly supplied support, permission or credit convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter sourceUnits, includedUnits, sourceUnit, corpusUnit. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read share, defined. Inspect defined before interpreting the associated values.
Return one source's share of a unit-matched corpus. Require nonnegative whole sourceUnits <= includedUnits and identical nonempty sourceUnit/corpusUnit; divide when includedUnits > 0, otherwise zero with defined = false.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| sourceUnits | Source Units | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| includedUnits | Included Units | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| sourceUnit | Source Unit | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| corpusUnit | Corpus Unit | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| share | Dimensionless ratio on the explicitly stated numerator and denominator basis. | Required. Finite number. |
| defined | Whether the stated denominator is nonzero; inspect this before using the associated ratio. | Required. Boolean. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Matching unit labels do not establish comparable content, representation or legal reuse rights.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
