Description

Convert quantity using a supplied equivalence factor and compare with reference.

Source support, credit and authorization are different concepts. Supplied flags and vocabularies can support record bookkeeping but cannot independently establish consent, cultural authority, equitable credit or legal reuse rights.

Convert quantity using a supplied equivalence factor and compare with reference.

When to use this tool

Use Exchange Value Equivalence Base when checking one explicitly supplied support, permission or credit convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter quantity, suppliedEquivalence, referenceQuantity. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read equivalentQuantity, gap. Use the output convention below.

Convert quantity using a supplied equivalence factor and compare with reference. Require equivalence > 0; equivalentQuantity = quantity*factor, gap = equivalent-reference.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Quantities may be signed; the factor does not establish cultural, monetary or ethical exchange equivalence.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
