Boiloff Gas Basis Pressure Factor Tool

Ideal-gas reference-volume crosswalk using absolute supplied pressures and temperatures.

Description

Rescale boiloff gas volume to a reference basis.

Cryogenic measurements and budgets depend on the fluid state, absolute temperatures and pressure reference, as well as compatible units. Local mass, heat or ideal-gas terms describe a supplied model without determining actual material properties or safe equipment operation.

Rescale boiloff gas volume to a reference basis.

When to use this tool

Use Boiloff Gas Basis Pressure Factor when checking a supplied cryogenic measurement, reference-state conversion or engineering budget.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter gasVolume, pressure, temperatureKelvin, referencePressure, referenceKelvin. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read referenceVolume. Use the output convention below.

Rescale boiloff gas volume to a reference basis. Require gasVolume >= 0 and positive absolute pressures/kelvin temperatures; referenceVolume = gasVolume*(pressure/referencePressure)*(referenceKelvin/temperatureKelvin).1

Limitations and assumptions

  • This assumes an ideal gas with conserved amount; it does not establish ventilation adequacy or cryogenic handling safety.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified state-specific properties and a complete qualified engineering assessment for practical cryogenic design, filling and handling.
