Description
Return ideal-gas volume flow at a supplied reference state.
Amount, mass and volume bases are distinct. Converting among them requires the appropriate molar mass, density, solvent basis or gas reference state; no universal factor can replace these supplied conventions.
Return ideal-gas volume flow at a supplied reference state.
When to use this tool
Use Molar Flow Standard Volume Reference when converting the stated concentration, molar quantity or gas-volume basis.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter molesPerSecond, pressure, temperature, gasConstant. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read volumePerSecond. Use the output convention below.
Return ideal-gas volume flow at a supplied reference state. Require molesPerSecond >= 0 and positive absolute pressure, absolute temperature and gas constant; volumePerSecond = molarFlow*R*T/P.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| molesPerSecond | Moles Per Second | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| pressure | Pressure | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| temperature | Temperature | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| gasConstant | Gas Constant | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| volumePerSecond | Volume Per Second | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Use consistent units and kelvins; no universal standard state, compressibility factor or condensation behavior is selected.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use explicit compatible units and verified composition/state data; use a full mixture or equation-of-state model when fixed-property assumptions do not apply.
