Description

Compare consecutive product labels against a supplied unique order.

Consumer-study records can describe exposure, recall, option availability and purchase-value bases. Local record arithmetic preserves a supplied study or billing convention without measuring preferences, establishing memory accuracy or determining consumer rights.

Compare consecutive product labels against a supplied unique order.

When to use this tool

Use Product Trial Order Transition when checking a supplied consumer-record, recall-window, choice or basket convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter previousProduct, nextProduct, suppliedOrder. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read repeated, bothKnown, orderDelta. Inspect repeated, bothKnown before interpreting the associated values.

Compare consecutive product labels against a supplied unique order. repeated uses literal equality, bothKnown checks membership, orderDelta is next-index minus previous-index when known, otherwise zero.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Zero orderDelta with unknown labels is a placeholder; this does not establish experimental counterbalancing or preference.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use actual study data, validated measurement methods and applicable merchant/consumer rules for substantive behavioral or transaction conclusions.
