Description
Return net installed quantity after rework and its credit gap.
Construction bookkeeping distinguishes installed, accepted, credited and reworked quantities, as well as contractual cost and schedule conventions. A local variance or budget term can expose a gap without verifying work quality, payment entitlement or the project critical path.
Return net installed quantity after rework and its credit gap.
When to use this tool
Use Rework Quantity Credit Gap when checking a supplied construction quantity, charge, record or schedule convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter grossInstalled, rework, credited. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read netInstalled, gap. Use the output convention below.
Return net installed quantity after rework and its credit gap. Require 0 <= rework <= grossInstalled and credited >= 0; netInstalled = gross-rework, gap = credited-netInstalled.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| grossInstalled | Gross Installed | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| rework | Rework | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| credited | Credited | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| netInstalled | Net Installed | Required. Finite number. |
| gap | Signed difference under the stated comparison convention, with matching units. | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- All quantities share units; acceptance, valuation and whether rework should be credited are supplied policies.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
