Description

Return installed progress relative to planned quantity.

Construction bookkeeping distinguishes installed, accepted, credited and reworked quantities, as well as contractual cost and schedule conventions. A local variance or budget term can expose a gap without verifying work quality, payment entitlement or the project critical path.

Return installed progress relative to planned quantity.

When to use this tool

Use Installed Quantity Progress Share when checking a supplied construction quantity, charge, record or schedule convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter installed, planned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read share. Use the output convention below.

Return installed progress relative to planned quantity. Require installed >= 0 and planned > 0; share = installed/planned.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input

Limitations and assumptions

  • The share is not capped at one and does not establish accepted completion, earned value or quality.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified project records, a complete schedule and governing contracts; involve qualified construction, engineering or legal professionals for practical decisions.
