Description
Order two temporal cues with an explicit equality policy.
Cognitive research records can encode stimuli, response timing, probability assumptions and observation support. Local differences and caller-defined tolerance labels do not establish perceptual validity, a cognitive mechanism, statistical equivalence or a clinical assessment.
Order two temporal cues with an explicit equality policy.
When to use this tool
Use Temporal Cue Order Zero Tie when checking a supplied cognitive-task timing, stimulus, probability or evidence convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter firstTime, secondTime, tiePolicy. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read order. Use the output convention below.
Order two temporal cues with an explicit equality policy. Require tiePolicy simultaneous, first or second; earlier numeric time wins, exact equality returns the policy label.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| firstTime | First Time | Required. Finite number. |
| secondTime | Second Time | Required. Finite number. |
| tiePolicy | Tie Policy | Required. Text; one of "simultaneous", "first", "second"; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| order | Order | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- No timing tolerance or actual stimulus ordering is measured; the tie label is caller-selected.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use a validated study design, calibrated measurements and appropriate statistical/professional interpretation for cognitive or health conclusions.
